Title Requirements

*All motor vehicles must have insurance to be registered in West Virginia. The only exceptions are Class C, R and T trailers, Farm Vehicles, and boats.

Properly Signed Title with both of the sellers & buyers signatures
If you paid less than 50% of the NADA book value you will need a notarized bill of sale/ Or a gift affidavit if the vehicle was gifted. A legal heir form, or pay 6% of NADA book value.
An odometer statement (unless vehicle is 10 years or older).
If out of state, signed Title application.
Valid West Virginia address.

Title Transfers

Signed Title or Certificate of origin
Bill of sale ( if you have one, please see forms section for a link to the form). A bill of sale is required if the purchase price is less than 50% of the NADA clean loan book value. The bill of sale must be notarized to be accepted.
Insurance card
If you are transferring your tags from another vehicle, you must have the registration card for the vehicle the tag is being transferred from.
If the vehicle was a gift you must have the gift affidavit filled out. (see the forms section for a link to the form). The affidavit must be notarized.
Drivers License.
